These
are the main surnames I am researching:
BIGGANS
- (Could be BIGGINS). Elizabeth Mary BIGGANS was born in Scotland,
according to my father's sister, Mary. I have not verified her place
of birth yet, but Elizabeth came to the U.S. with her mother as
a child, along with her half-sister Margaret HUGHES.
GRIESHABER - Agatha GRIESHABER was born in Baden, Germany, in 1857.
She arrived in this country in 1872 as a young girl, accompanied
by her sister Therese. Agatha married Charles MEHM Sr. in 1878,
in Salina, Kansas. They moved to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania about
1881/1882. They had 8 children.
KINSEY - Elizabeth KINSEY was born in Scotland, lived and died in
Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
KLINE/KLEIN
- My KLINE immigrant ancestor was John KLINE, born in Germany in
1846. The 1880 Census lists his place of birth as Hesse, Germany.
He arrived in this country in 1850 or 1851, based on the 1900 and
1910 Census. John settled in the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania area,
and married Elizabeth BIGGANS in 1873.
MEHM
- Covered that surname rather thoroughly in this web site. Click
on "My Ancestors" on the left.
